Use your digital benefits cards
You can use your digital benefits cards just like you would a physical benefits card. For example, you can show your digital cards when you go to pick up a prescription or go to the dentist, and you can use the information from your digital cards to create an online account with your insurance carrier.
Your digital cards have all the information you need to access your benefits:
Carrier ID: A two-digit code that is specific to the insurance carrier who administers the benefit. This code helps healthcare providers identify your insurance carrier.
Plan ID: Sometimes called a contract number. This six-digit code is unique to your employer.
Member ID: Sometimes called a certificate number. This ten-digit ID is unique to you and helps your carrier identify you. This ID might also have an issue # at the end, sometimes following a hyphen (“01” or “-01” for you, “02”, “03”, “04” etc for your dependents).
Some of your benefits might have the same digital card. For example, if all your benefits are through the same carrier, you’ll notice they all have the same digital benefits card with the same information.
