Backdate coverage for employees

Occasionally an employee will have a benefits start date later than they expected. If the employee submits a claim with a service date before the benefits start date, the insurance carrier will deny the claim.

When the League Customer Care team learns about this issue, they:

  1. Investigate the date discrepancy in the League system.

  2. Contact the plan administrator for confirmation of the benefits start date.

If the benefits start date is incorrect, our team:

  1. Sends the supporting documentation to the carrier.

  2. Requests the carrier backdate the benefits start date.

If the benefits start date is correct, the League Customer Care team will contact the employee. The team will let them know the correct benefits start date.
